Mexico City .- To promote the development of the sector of Information Technology (IT) and related services, the Ministry of Economy launched the 2011 call for applications to support the Programme for the Development of Software Industry (Prosoft ).
The closing date of the Call 2011-4, open from Tuesday, will be based on the type of projects submitted which will provide more breadth to the participants.
For projects related to Development Project Industry Information Technology MX-7571, conducted by the Ministry of Economy with the World Bank, have two closures, the first on August 5 and the second August 31 this year.
For all other projects, the opening of the Convocation was the July 14, 2011 and closing date is 31 August.
It is noteworthy that in 2009, to obtain technical assistance to accelerate and expand the scope of PROSOFT 2.0, was designed in conjunction with the World Bank, the project mentioned, whose loan was equivalent to 80 million dollars from the WB .
In this project, Prosoft fund was established to operate as a mechanism for the loan on the basis of resource allocation rules of operation thereof.
2011-4 The call is directed to both individuals and corporations doing business in the IT industry, agencies, business groups, integrating companies and civil associations, and the camera in the IT industry.
They can access resources PROSOFT, academic institutions and entrepreneurs, also from the IT sector, in addition to the public, private or mixed among whose objectives is the development of this sector.
The items that supports Prosoft, ranging from training and certification and qualification of human capital and technological equipment to support IT users who sign companies established in Mexico.

Chamber warns about the risks of free software
A warning light has lit the Chamber of Information Technology of Paraguay (CTIP) against the imposition of Free Software in the ICT policy of the State, because they feel it is a threat to the private sector, specifically for software companies.
From the CTIP, indicate that this option is taking an "extreme fanaticism," without considering what is best for a country that wants to develop not close to any kind of technology.
In this sense, the CTIP is driving the "technological neutrality, which means the right to free choice of appropriate technologies for each case and Interoperability as a condition in which disparate systems can exchange data and processes."
This was spelled out in a letter sent late last month ICT Policy Advisor of the Presidency of the Republic, Nicolas Pereyra, realizing the position of the sector.
The letter is signed by the CTIP, the Paraguayan Chamber of Internet, the National Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay (CNCSP), the Chamber of Wholesale Computer Asunción, the House of Call Center, the Paraguayan Chamber of Informatics and Communications, the IPU, and the Sectoral ICT Rediex.
"ICT companies and organizations that represent them, approve the initiatives that the Government is doing to the incorporation of information technologies in the public sector. As guests we have participated in the presentations given by the ICT Master Plan and we understand that part a national project that seeks the benefit of all inhabitants of the Republic and its growth, "pointing to the document.
But, they add, "that understanding, they were told that we will ensure that these policies respect the neutrality and the use of interoperable standards for all ICT projects in the state."
"These principles mean: no privileges, not monopolies, improved technologies, lower costs, equal opportunities for all and technological growth industries to promote sound, competitive and mature" end.
