Hidalgo - The UTEC has developed software for the visually impaired

Tulancingo, Hidalgo .- Tulancingo Technological University (JTU), has an adaptation of free software.

It was developed in this institution, facilitates learning for people with visualdisabilities.

The tool was applied to this university by the Universidad Tecnológica de SantaCatarina, Nuevo León, for their support programs for people who can not see fully or partially.

The rector of the UTec, Concepción Gómez Juárez, said the software was developedby research professor Oscar Lira Uribe.

Will be donated as part of a mutual support between these two institutions, which alsohelp to reduce software licensing costs.

The program generated in the UTec can listen to the words that are written in bothSpanish and English.

And through collaborative networks that exist between the two colleges, the Technological University of Santa Catarina UTec support the material to supportcurriculum content for the blind, which are produced through special printers.

It should be noted that the two institutions have worked with other universities that have programs to support disabled.

The level UTec develops and Engineering Technical Colleges, for the design and production of materials needed in the teaching-learning process of students withvisual impairments.

And, work is already in the acquisition of image displays and printers that can beworked by touch.
