Open call for support for the Development of Software Industry

Mexico City .- To promote the development of the sector of Information Technology (IT) and related services, the Ministry of Economy launched the 2011 call for applications to support the Programme for the Development of Software Industry (Prosoft ).

The closing date of the Call 2011-4, open from Tuesday, will be based on the type of projects submitted which will provide more breadth to the participants.

For projects related to Development Project Industry Information Technology MX-7571, conducted by the Ministry of Economy with the World Bank, have two closures, the first on August 5 and the second August 31 this year.

For all other projects, the opening of the Convocation was the July 14, 2011 and closing date is 31 August.

It is noteworthy that in 2009, to obtain technical assistance to accelerate and expand the scope of PROSOFT 2.0, was designed in conjunction with the World Bank, the project mentioned, whose loan was equivalent to 80 million dollars from the WB .

Chamber warns about the risks of free software

A warning light has lit the Chamber of Information Technology of Paraguay (CTIP) against the imposition of Free Software in the ICT policy of the State, because they feel it is a threat to the private sector, specifically for software companies.

From the CTIP, indicate that this option is taking an "extreme fanaticism," without considering what is best for a country that wants to develop not close to any kind of technology.

In this sense, the CTIP is driving the "technological neutrality, which means the right to free choice of appropriate technologies for each case and Interoperability as a condition in which disparate systems can exchange data and processes."
