Google planning to rename Picasa to Blogger

The company will simplify the identification of existing services such as Blogs andPhotos names, according to news site Mashable

With a redesign of the interface for various services, in line with the announcement ofthe social network: Google, the company evaluates unmark Blogger and Picasa, two ofits popular services, blogging and storage online photo of according to a report fromtech news site Mashable.
The initiative is part of an effort to unify the services that were not developed by the company. Thus, both Blogger and Picasa (acquired in 2003 and 2004) would retain their current benefits, but it would be renamed Google Photos Blogs and Google, respectively.
According to Mashable, the measure has a precedent with services that Google acquired in recent years, JotSpot, and VOIP, which became known as Google Sitesand Google Voice. However, the exception to the rule was YouTube, the online videoplatform acquired in 2006, where the company kept its name on Google Video.
The change would take place within a month and a half, and would mark the ultimate integration of photo storage system and blogging platform to the brand new Googlesocial network +.
